India Crush Pakistan by Seven Wickets in Women’s Asia Cup

India’s bowlers dismantle Pakistan for 55 before Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma guide the team home in just 8.4 overs.

DUBAI, Sept 5: India produced a dominant all round performance to defeat Pakistan by seven wickets in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 on Saturday, restricting their arch rivals to just 55 runs before completing the chase in only 8.4 overs.

Pakistan, after winning the toss and opting to bat, struggled against India’s disciplined spin attack and were bowled out for 55 in 18.1 overs. The Indian bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings, leaving Pakistan with little opportunity to build a partnership.

Shree Charani and Prema Rawat were among the standout performers with the ball, while Deepti Sharma also played a key role in dismantling the Pakistan batting order. The collapse left India needing only 56 runs for victory.

India suffered an early wobble during the chase, losing three wickets, but the experienced middle order ensured there was no further setback.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma steadied the innings and took India across the finishing line comfortably. Harmanpreet remained unbeaten on 18, while Deepti contributed an unbeaten 12 as India reached 57 for three in 8.4 overs.

The emphatic result strengthened India’s position in the tournament and underlined the team’s depth in both bowling and batting.

The victory also extended India’s impressive start to the competition after earlier wins over Thailand and Hong Kong.

India’s ability to recover quickly after losing early wickets added another positive aspect to the performance, with the middle order displaying composure in a low-pressure chase.

The result will further boost India’s confidence as the team looks to maintain its momentum in the remainder of the Women’s Asia Cup.
