India, July 13 2026 : Centre Announces Major Expansion of ESI Healthcare Facilities
The government has announced the expansion of Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) healthcare infrastructure with the launch of seven major healthcare projects worth around ₹668 crore across different parts of the country.
The upcoming facilities are aimed at improving medical services for insured workers and their families by increasing hospital capacity, strengthening outpatient services and expanding healthcare access.
The projects include new hospital blocks, upgraded healthcare facilities and additional dispensary services across states such as Telangana, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Projects to Benefit Around 53 Lakh Beneficiaries
According to officials, the newly developed facilities will help provide better medical services to approximately 53 lakh beneficiaries covered under the ESI healthcare network.
The expansion is expected to improve access to specialised treatment, reduce pressure on existing hospitals and enhance healthcare delivery for workers in industrial and urban areas.
Strengthening Worker Healthcare Services
The government has been focusing on modernising ESI hospitals by improving infrastructure, increasing treatment capacity and introducing better healthcare management systems.
Officials said that these projects reflect efforts to provide affordable and accessible healthcare services to employees covered under the social security scheme.
Improved Medical Access Across States
The new healthcare facilities are expected to support communities by providing better outpatient care, emergency services and specialised medical treatment.
Healthcare experts believe that expanding worker-focused healthcare infrastructure will contribute significantly to strengthening India’s overall public health system.
The latest projects mark another step towards creating a wider healthcare network that can meet the increasing medical needs of workers and their families.
