India records 1,331 new COVID-19 cases, active cases drop to 22,742

09-05-2023 : According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 1,331 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total tally to 4.49 crore (4,49,72,800). The number of active cases has decreased to 22,742 from 25,178. The death toll has risen to 5,31,707 with 11 new fatalities reported.
The ministry noted that the active cases now constitute 0.06% of the total infections in the country, while the national recovery rate stands at 98.76%. The data also revealed that 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
