India Women’s Cricket Team Defeats Pakistan in T20 World Cup Opener

12-02-2023 : In the opening game of the Vanitas T20 World Cup on Sunday, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team defeated longtime rivals Pakistan to get the tournament off to a strong start.

In their first game of the season, Pakistan chose to bat first. They lost starter Javeria Khan in the second over, which gave it a sluggish start.

Bisma Maroof, the captain, reached 50 and is still unbeaten at 68. On 43 from 25 balls, Ayesha was still unbeaten. With the loss of 4 wickets, the squad managed to score 149 runs, a respectable total. 2 wickets were taken by Radha Yadav for 21 runs.

India’s women beat the opposition by 7 wickets while chasing the target, scoring 151 runs in 19 overs while losing 3 wickets.

The combined runs of Yasthika Bhatia and Shafali Verma were 17 and 33, respectively. Jemima Rodrigues, who had a fantastic game, contributed significantly to the victory by scoring 53 runs in 38 balls without being out. Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain, scored 16 runs but was also despatched. Richa Ghosh, the wicketkeeper, contributed an unbeaten 31 off 20 balls to clinch the victory prior to an over.
