Mumbai, Sept 21: P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday highlighted India’s remarkable progress and governance reforms while addressing the convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai.
Mishra cited several flagship initiatives, including the Rs 1 lakh crore Anusandhan National Research Fund and the IndiaAI Mission, as examples of the government’s commitment to research, innovation, and technology-driven growth.
He emphasized that India has emerged as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, hosting over 100 unicorns and 1.9 lakh startups, reflecting the country’s entrepreneurial dynamism.
Speaking on governance reforms, Mishra lauded the transformative impact of Mission Karmayogi, which aims to build ethical and efficient civil services through capacity building. The iGOT Karmayogi platform has offered over 3,300 courses, serving 1.3 crore users.
Highlighting personnel reforms since 2014, Mishra explained the strategic shift toward building a 21st-century civil service. The Multi-Source Feedback system has expanded the talent pool, ensuring objective and fair selection processes.
“India is progressing with courage and confidence under the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, driven by the mantra of ‘Reform, Perform and Transform’,” Mishra said. “Teamwork is probably much more important than individual brilliance. India today is not just talking about change. We are proving it – through speed, scale, and purpose.”
IIM Mumbai, which has risen to 6th rank among India’s top IIMs, celebrated 100 percent placement for its graduating students, with leading organizations offering prestigious roles across diverse sectors.
