IndiGo, SpiceJet Suspend Srinagar Flights Due to Dense Fog
IndiGo and SpiceJet suspend services; passengers advised to check flight status and reschedule
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], December 22 : Dense fog in Srinagar has led to the cancellation of flights by IndiGo and SpiceJet, the airport authorities confirmed on Monday via an update on X.
Passengers traveling to and from Srinagar are advised to check the status of their flights directly with the respective airlines and make alternate arrangements if necessary.
On Sunday, IndiGo issued a travel advisory warning that poor visibility due to dense fog could impact flight operations, potentially causing delays or cancellations depending on operational feasibility. Passengers affected by cancellations were directed to visit IndiGo’s Plan B page
to reschedule flights or claim refunds.
SpiceJet also issued a weather advisory, noting that all departures and arrivals could be affected by the adverse conditions. Both airlines emphasized the importance of checking real time updates on their websites or mobile apps before traveling to the airport.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) added that fog in northern India is affecting visibility at select airports, potentially causing delays and operational changes. Passenger assistance teams have been deployed to ensure smooth operations and safety amid the weather disruption.
Authorities urged travelers to allow extra time for airport procedures and stay updated through official airline channels.
