Industry Leaders and Academic Minds Converge at Landmark Academia-Industry Meet 2024 in J&K
Skill Development Department organises Academia Meet 2024
JAMMU, JANUARY 19: In a groundbreaking initiative to foster innovation and collaboration, Department of Skill Development J&K hosted the first industry Academia Meet 2024 here today, bringing together the brightest minds from academy industry leaders under one roof.
The 1st Academia Industry meet was held in Women Polytechnic College Jammu, where more than 30 industrialists participated.
Prominent among the attendees were Tejwant Singh Reen, Chairman Federation of Industry Jammu, Lalit Mahajan, President BBIA, Satish Koul, Resident Director emcure Pharmaceuticals, Jagjit Singh from TATA Technologies and other Industrialists.
Director Industry Dr Arun Manhas, Joint Director Skill Development, HOS’s / Senior Facility of members from 10 Polytechnics and 24 ITIs from across the Jammu Division participated.
In the Daylong event deliberating on the collaborative efforts of Industrial partners with the Academia. The Event was inaugurated by Archid Puri Chairman of Confederation Indian Industries J&K and others who expressed their concern regarding the training program in the Skill Development Department and they emphasized on increased collaboration between academia from facing the challenges of Business in the sector of the workforce, The need of greater technology depth, higher value addition in new courses. Development of Skill Development has already signed long-term MOUs with Indian MNC’S viz TOYATO, ASHOKA LAYLAND, prior to this event and the MOUs with IIT/IIM Jammu was Signed.
President Chamber of Commerce Jammu appreciated the role of skill development Department for the welfare of the skillful unemployed Youth of Jammu and Kashmir in General and UT Administration / GOI in particular and also thanks for sanctioning of Industry Cluster at Bari Bharamna under Strive Project, sanction of model ITI’s (one for Jammu and one for Kashmir), sanction of Strive Project for seven ITI’s.(Four for Jammu and Three for Kashmir). Director Skill Development congratulated to the TPOs and management committee for this successful event welcome address was presented by Principal Polytechnic Udhampur, Ritu Jamwal, and a vote of thanks was presented by Suket Gupta Principal Government Polytechnic Women for Jammu.
