Mohali : Infosys Ltd is set to invest approximately Rs 300 crore in Mohali to expand its business operations, generating employment for around 2,500 people and indirect opportunities for 210 more, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced on Thursday. The move aligns with Punjab’s push to strengthen its industry and commerce under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Infosys has maintained a presence in Mohali since 2017, currently employing around 900 staff at the facility. The company plans a phased expansion strategy to leverage local talent while ensuring sustainable growth and deeper regional engagement.

Phase 1 involves the construction of 300,000 square feet of office and ancillary space, with an estimated completion timeline of three years from the date all approvals are obtained. The building will be environmentally friendly and certified LEED Platinum, the highest rating under the system.

Phase 2 will further expand office space and ancillary buildings by 480,000 square feet, with completion projected five years after Phase 1, following all regulatory and statutory approvals.

Sanjeev Arora emphasized that this expansion will significantly boost Mohali’s employment opportunities and contribute to the state’s economic growth trajectory.
