‘Invitation to Nation Building’: PM Modi Hands Over 61,000 Job Letters at 18th Rozgar Mela

PM calls Rozgar Mela appointments a pledge to serve Constitution and strengthen India’s future

New Delhi, Jan 24 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed appointment letters to 61,000 newly recruited youth at the 18th Rozgar Mela, describing the moment as a collective commitment to nation building and constitutional values.

Addressing the event virtually from New Delhi, Modi said the appointment letters symbolised more than employment, calling them an “invitation to nation building” and a resolve to take India to greater heights. He reminded the recruits of their responsibilities towards the Constitution and public service.

Marking the significance of the day, the Prime Minister noted that it was on this date that Jana Gana Mana was recognised as the national anthem and Vande Mataram as the national song. He said the new appointees would play a vital role in strengthening key sectors such as defence, healthcare, education and energy security.

Modi reiterated that employment generation remains a top priority for his government and said the Rozgar Mela was launched to fast track recruitment in government departments through a mission-driven approach. He added that the initiative has evolved into a nationwide platform, with recruitment events now being organised simultaneously at more than 40 locations across the country.

Highlighting India’s demographic advantage, the Prime Minister said the government is working continuously to expand opportunities for the country’s youth. He pointed to India’s growing network of trade and mobility agreements with various nations, stating that these partnerships would open up new avenues for employment both within India and abroad.

Modi also underlined the impact of large scale infrastructure development, noting that construction-linked sectors have generated significant job opportunities in recent years. In addition, he praised the rapid expansion of India’s startup ecosystem, stating that it currently provides employment to over 21 lakh young people, supported by the growth of the Digital India driven economy.
