Israeli Air Force Eliminates Head of Hamas Aerial Operations, Murad Abu Murad, in Precision Strike
14-10-2023 : The Israeli Air Force (IAF) reported the successful elimination of a high-ranking Hamas commander during an overnight airstrike in Gaza. The strike targeted the headquarters of Hamas aerial activities and resulted in the demise of Murad Abu Murad, the leader of Hamas’s air force.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) claimed responsibility for the operation, emphasizing that it was a part of their broader efforts to counteract Hamas activities and combat terrorism originating from Gaza. The airstrike is seen as a response to the recent attack in which Hamas attackers used hang gliders to infiltrate Israeli territory from the air.
According to a statement by the Israeli Air Force, the operation was not limited to eliminating Murad Abu Murad. It also encompassed a broader offensive against numerous Hamas targets, including what they referred to as “Nukhba” terrorist operatives who were congregating in the Gaza Strip for alleged staging.
The operation targeted the operational headquarters from which Hamas managed its aerial activities. Murad Abu Murad played a significant role in directing terrorists during the recent attack, and his elimination was a key objective of the mission.
Furthermore, in a separate series of what the Israeli Air Force described as “widespread” strikes, they targeted multiple sites affiliated with Hamas’s commando forces. The strikes sought to disrupt and neutralize these military assets and combatants. Among the specific units mentioned were the Najaba forces, which had previously infiltrated settlements in a deadly attack.
Additionally, the IDF soldiers were reported to have detected a terrorist cell attempting to infiltrate Israeli territory from Lebanon. In response, the IAF deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to target and eliminate several members of the terrorist cell, thereby thwarting the attempted breach of Israeli borders.
