Jackie Shroff Pays Tribute to APJ Abdul Kalam on His 94th Birth Anniversary
Bollywood actor honors the ‘Missile Man of India’ with a heartfelt message as fans also look forward to upcoming biopic starring Dhanush.
New Delhi, Oct 15 : On the 94th birth anniversary of India’s revered former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff paid tribute to the visionary leader.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Jackie shared a portrait of Dr. Kalam, writing: “Remembering Shri APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his Birth Anniversary!”
Dr. Kalam, who served as India’s 11th President from 2002 to 2007, was more than a political leader. Renowned as an aerospace scientist, teacher, and dreamer, he inspired millions with his belief in the power of youth and innovation. Known popularly as the ‘Missile Man of India’, Kalam played a pivotal role in advancing India’s missile and space programs.
Rising from humble beginnings in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Kalam’s journey to becoming one of India’s most admired figures continues to inspire generations. Even after his presidential tenure, he dedicated himself to teaching and motivating young minds. He passed away on July 27, 2015, while delivering a lecture at IIM Shillong.
This year, fans have additional reason to celebrate his legacy with the announcement of a biopic titled ‘Kalam’, unveiled earlier at the Cannes Film Festival. The film will feature National Award-winning actor Dhanush portraying the late scientist and President. Directed by Om Raut of Adipurush fame, the movie will explore lesser-known facets of Kalam’s life as a poet, philosopher, and teacher, blending science with spirituality.
The biopic is produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts, along with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, and Anil Sunkara, promising to offer a comprehensive tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. Kalam.
