Jaipur Open 2025: Kushal Singh Fires Stunning 63 to Take Day Two Lead

Singh climbs to the top at 13-under as Yuvraj Sandhu and Veer Ahlawat stay close in title race

Jaipur, Dec 04 : Kushal Singh’s terrific seven-under 63 propelled him into the lead on Day Two of the Jaipur Open 2025, the INR 1 crore event underway at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur. Gurugram golfer Kushal Singh (64-63), continuing his impressive run since his runner up finish at the PGTI NexGen event in Bhubaneswar, moved to the top at 13-under 127 at the halfway mark. He climbed from his overnight tied second place to hold a slender one-shot advantage.

PGTI Order of Merit leader Yuvraj Sandhu (65-63) also carded a superb 63 to claim second place at 12-under 128, climbing four spots after his opening round.

Veer Ahlawat, winner of the 2024 PGTI Rankings, delivered the tournament’s lowest score so fa an error free eight under 62. His brilliant round lifted him nine places to tied third at 11-under 129. Sharing third place was Ravi Kumar, whose bogey free 63 saw him move up six spots.

First-round leader Manoj S. slipped to tied 11th at five under 135 after a disappointing 72.

Two local professionals from Jaipur Prakhar Asawa (two-under 138) and Hemendra Choudhary (one-under 139) — made the cut, positioned tied 23rd and tied 34th respectively.
The cut was set at even-par 140, with 54 professionals advancing to the money rounds.

Kushal Singh backed up his strong opening 64 with another high-quality round. The 31-year-old, who has posted top-10, top-20, and top-30 finishes in his last three PGTI starts, has been steadily rising in the rankings and currently sits 61st on the Order of Merit.

After a slow start on Wednesday five pars and a bogey on the sixth  Kushal bounced back emphatically with eight birdies from the seventh to the 18th, showcasing powerful driving and sharp short-game execution.

“I’ve been playing well since finishing inside the top-10 at the PGTI Qualifying School. My season picked up pace after the runner-up finish at the NexGen event. I’ve been consistent and scoring well since then,” Kushal said.

Yuvraj Sandhu remained firmly in the hunt with his second-round 63, highlighted by a chip-in and several long conversions.

Veer Ahlawat impressed with his accuracy off the tee and multiple mid-range putts, including an eagle, during his sparkling 62.
