Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Vows to Eliminate Terrorism in the Region

Successful Interception of Narco-Terror Module in Poonch Highlights Pakistan's Nefarious Activities

04-03-2023 : The Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir, Dilbag Singh, declared that Pakistan is persistently attempting to smuggle terrorists, drugs, and weapons into the region. However, Singh affirmed that the security forces are resolute in their commitment to eradicate terrorism from the area, despite the declining trend of terrorist activities. He praised the successful interception of a narco-terror module in Poonch and assured that the security agencies are working comprehensively to dismantle the entire support structure of terrorism in the region. Singh acknowledged the recovery of large amounts of cash, heroin, and weapons in Poonch as evidence of Pakistan’s nefarious activities.

During his visit to the Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) in Vijaypur, Singh inaugurated various facilities and addressed the darbar of trainees, staff, and officers. He was accompanied by several high-ranking officials, including ADGP Headquarters PHQ M. K. Sinha, ADPG Coordination PHQ Danesh Rana, DIG Training PHQ Imtiaz Ismail Parrey, and AIG (T&P) PHQ, J. S. Johar. Singh received a Guard of Honour from the trainees and launched the PTTI website at the conference hall. He directed the Principal PTTI to focus on technical courses that address new challenges and emphasized the importance of upgrading the technical skills of the team. Singh urged the Principal to organize interactions between trainees and nearby schools and to identify areas of excellence in every J&K Police training centre.

The Principal PTTI gave a presentation highlighting the objectives, activities, and achievements of the institution, as well as the available facilities and the Civic Action Programme. The visit demonstrated the commitment of the security agencies to eliminate terrorism from the region and the ongoing efforts to develop the technical skills of the police force.
