Jammu and Kashmir Police, Led by IGP Anand Jain, Assures Full Preparedness to Counter Emerging Challenges

Jammu, 19-12-2023 : Jammu and Kashmir stands resilient and fully equipped to tackle any challenges that may arise, asserted Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu zone, Anand Jain, on Tuesday. Speaking to the media after inaugurating a cricket tournament organized by the police in Kathua district to honor martyrs, IGP Jain, accompanied by officials including Kathua Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas, paid tributes to police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism. Emphasizing the capabilities of the J&K Police, Jain expressed the commitment to eradicate terrorism. Responding to queries about potential terrorist activities along the Jammu border during winter, he highlighted the force’s readiness. Despite heavy snowfall closing infiltration routes along the Line of Control in Kashmir, the threat along the International Border in Kathua, Samba, and Jammu districts remains, particularly amidst foggy conditions.

Regarding the smuggling of narcotics from Punjab into Jammu and Kashmir, IGP Jain noted that ongoing investigations aim to unveil all links involved. He reaffirmed efforts to make J&K a drug-free region, advising youth to steer clear of drugs and channel their time and energy positively for personal growth and the country’s welfare. The cricket tournament, dedicated to fallen policemen, serves as more than a memorial, carrying a message to inspire youth toward education and sports. Jain stressed the role of the younger generation in contributing to the nation’s development.
