Jammu-Srinagar Highway Restored After Massive Landslide Clearance

Traffic Movement Resumes After Overnight Operations

JAMMU, May 4: Vehicular movement on the strategic Jammu-Srinagar National Highway resumed on Sunday after authorities cleared debris caused by landslides triggered by heavy rainfall in Ramban district.

Officials said restoration teams worked overnight using heavy machinery to reopen the highway, which serves as the primary road link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country.

Traffic authorities advised commuters to travel only after checking updated road advisories due to the possibility of fresh shooting stones and slippery conditions in vulnerable stretches.

The administration stated that monitoring teams remain deployed in landslide-prone areas to ensure smooth traffic movement and passenger safety.
