Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Closed for Second Day Due to Landslides

22-02-2023 : According to officials on Wednesday, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains closed for the second consecutive day due to landslides on the road stretch between Ramban and Banihal. The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police have advised people not to travel on NH-44 until the restoration work is completed, and restoration work is currently underway.

The National Highway was blocked on Tuesday following landslides at CPPL Mess between Ramban and Banihal, and the traffic police have reported that the clearance work of the highway is ongoing. As the lifeline of the Kashmir valley and the main road link connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country, the highway is crucial for the transportation of essential supplies, including fruit, to and from the region.
