Jammu’s ADGP Focuses on Multi-Faceted Security Approach and Patriotic Engagement
Jammu's ADGP Charts Comprehensive Security Plan Ahead of Independence Day
09-08-2023 : As the nation approaches Independence Day, Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for the Jammu Zone, has directed focused attention toward bolstering anti-drone defenses and enhancing the deployment grid along the border. In a comprehensive security review session held on Wednesday, Singh convened a crucial meeting involving various security agencies, paramilitary forces, and civil administration officials. The central focus of this meeting was to deliberate on and refine the security arrangements leading up to the August 15th celebrations.
During the meeting, senior officers provided detailed insights into the security strategies planned for the Independence Day festivities in the Jammu district. The discussions encompassed the proposed deployments by both the District Police and the Security Wing in and around the venue. The agenda expanded further as each officer present at the meeting presented a comprehensive security assessment, including emerging threats. Additionally, a thorough examination and discussion were carried out regarding the inputs shared by various intelligence agencies, scrutinizing every aspect with meticulous attention.
ADGP Mukesh Singh underscored the evolving trends in terrorist activities and called upon each agency to collaborate intensively in order to neutralize these threats effectively. Two key aspects that Singh laid particular emphasis on were anti-drone measures and the enhancement of the border deployment grid. These priorities were intricately linked to ensuring the security of both Police and Army installations. Moreover, Singh advocated for the launch of offensive operations in critical areas like Rajouri-Poonch and Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, while simultaneously urging for proactive preventive measures in other districts.
Strategically positioned joint checkpoints at susceptible locations and inter-district boundaries received special attention as well. With a strong emphasis on maintaining a high state of vigilance and readiness, Singh further urged for the peaceful conduct of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. This multi-faceted approach to security also encompassed the implementation of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” (My Land, My Country) program. Singh proposed the organization of ‘Tiranga’ (Tricolor) Rallies at significant locations across district headquarters and sub-divisions, involving active participation from civil administration officials, college and school students. This initiative aimed to foster a sense of patriotism and unity among the masses.
