J&K CM Omar Abdullah Announces Six Free Gas Cylinders Annually for AAY Families

Jammu, Feb 6: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday announced a new welfare measure providing six free LPG cylinders every year to all households under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) in the Union Territory.
Addressing the Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister emphasized that the scheme is designed to benefit the most economically disadvantaged families, ensuring access to essential cooking fuel without financial burden. Abdullah stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and improving their quality of life.
The program will cover all AAY beneficiaries across Jammu and Kashmir, marking a significant step toward energy accessibility and social welfare for the region’s poorest households.
