J&K Congress protests on 4th day over Rahul Gandhi issue, and blame Govt. of misusing central agencies
Police foils Raj Bhawan march, Hundred Congress men taken into custody.
Jammu, June 16- Congress today continued its protests on the 4th day over the Rahul Gandhi issue in Jammu while the similar protest was held in Kashmir also outside it’s Srinagar HQ.
A strong protest was held outside PCC HQ at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu led by JKPCC Chief G A Mir in which senior leaders including working President Shri Raman Bhalla, Vice President Mula Ram, Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries Th Balwan Singh, Manmohan Singh, Shah Mohd Chaudhary, Rajnish Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Ved Mahajan, Indu Pawar, Udey Chib, Vinod Sharma, Pawan Raina, Shashi Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Sunny Parihaar, Karan Bhagat, Suresh Dogra, Gajan Singh, Pranab Shagotra, Col Swarn Singh, Narinder Gupta, Kapil Singh, Sahil Sharma, Ch Dwarka, Ritu Chaudhary, Sukhdev Chaudhary, H S Mehta, Dr. R.K. Khajuria, Vandana Sharma, Satish Sharma, Sonu Dogra, Michael Wazir, Chander Shekhar, Atul Sharma, Sat Pal Spolia, Pawandev Singh, Jatin Vashisht, Kewel Jogi, Vijay Shastri, Baldev Singh Wazir, Uttam Singh Chib, Jatinder Bhagat, Gurmeet Singh, Dewan Chand, Ram Mangotra, Pardeep Bhalla, Jatinder Chib, Varun Sharma, Gurdev Singh and several others, participated.
The protestors raised slogans against BJP accusing the Modi government of indulging in political vendetta against the Congress party and Gandhi’s family. They blamed the Modi government of misusing central agencies like ED, and CBI to take on the opposition leaders, especially the Congress party.
Speaking to media persons during the protest PCC Chief accused the Modi government of destroying the democratic culture in the country and creating mistrust amongst the people in the country.
He said Congress shall not be cowed down by such tactics and would fight back the repressive policies of the Modi-led BJP government and safeguard democracy.
A heavy contingent of police stopped the protest from proceeding toward Raj Bhawan and the entire leadership was taken into preventive custody and taken to district police lines.
