J&K Geology and Mining Dept Suspends Nine Mineral Dealer Licences Over Violations
Action taken after monitoring committee finds non-compliance with Minor Mineral Concession Rules in Jammu division.
Jammu: The Directorate of Geology and Mining Jammu and Kashmir has suspended nine Mineral Dealer Licences (MDLs) across the Union Territory after alleged violations of licence conditions under the Minor Mineral Concession Rules.
The action was ordered by Director Geology and Mining S. P. Rukwal following reports submitted by a monitoring committee tasked with regulating mineral dealer licences in the Jammu division.
According to officials, the licences had originally been issued to individuals and firms for stocking, selling and offering minor minerals and mineral products for commercial use under the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Minor Mineral Concession, Storage, Transportation of Minerals and Prevention of Illegal Mining Rules, 2016.
Based on the committee’s findings, dealers operating in districts such as Jammu and Samba were found to be non-compliant with licence conditions. Their licences have been suspended for a period of one month or until the reported violations are corrected and compliance is ensured.
The licence holders affected by the suspension include M/S Mahavir Minerals, M/S Baba Chemicals, Harshit Magotra, Joginder Singh, Rahil Choudhary, Digvijay Singh, Asha Devi, Raman Choudhary and Sham Lal Mogotra.
Officials said the measure is aimed at strengthening oversight and ensuring strict adherence to regulations governing the trading and storage of minor minerals across the Union Territory.
