J&K Government Raises Children’s Education Allowance and Hostel Subsidy by 25%
Revised CEA and Hostel Subsidy Rates Effective After DA Hike
Jammu & Kashmir, Oct 08 : The Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has announced a 25 percent hike in the Children Education Allowance (CEA) and Hostel Subsidy for government employees, following a 50 percent increase in Dearness Allowance effective from January 1, 2024.
Under the new rates, the monthly CEA stands at Rs 2,812.50, Hostel Subsidy at Rs 8,437.50, and CEA for Divyang children has been revised to Rs 5,625. The enhancement aims to support employees in managing educational and hostel-related expenses for their children.
