J&K Govt Regularises, Promotes 17 Information Officers
Three officers regularised retrospectively from 2018; others elevated to Pay Level-8 with immediate effect
JAMMU, May 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday approved the regularisation and promotion of 17 officers in the Information Department, elevating In-charge Information Officers and Assistant Information Officers to the rank of Information Officer and equivalent posts.
The appointments were cleared through Government Order No. 17-JK(ID) of 2026 issued by the department on May 25. The promoted officials have been placed in Pay Level-8 carrying a pay scale of ₹47,600–1,51,100.
Officials who received the promotion include Showket Ahmad Khan, Riyaz Ahmad Fazili, Parshotam Dass, Rajinder Paul Singh, Gulshan Sumbria, Majeeb Ahmad Ganai, Gulshan Ara, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Sayed Gulam Jeelani Qadiri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Gurpreet Singh, Liyaqat Ali Mir, Mohammad Owais Gurkoo, Natyapal Singh, Parvaiz Ahmad Lone, Sajad Ahmad Shah and Hardeep Singh Choudhary.
As per the order, the services of Showket Ahmad Khan, Riyaz Ahmad Fazili and Parshotam Dass have been regularised retrospectively from September 5, 2018, while the promotion of the remaining officers will take effect prospectively.
The government also stated that the promotions would remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before competent courts. All officers will continue at their current postings until further orders are issued.
