J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu Appeals to Deputy Commissioners for Support in Flood Relief Coordination
Jammu, September 11, 2025: The Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu has written to all the 10 Deputy Commissioners of the Jammu Province, urging their facilitation of advocates who are actively extending assistance in ongoing flood relief and rehabilitation measures.
In its communication, the Bar Association highlighted that delegations of advocates across province have reported facing significant difficulties in gaining timely access to district offices due to the overwhelming situation on the ground and official restrictions. This has hindered smooth coordination in extending much-needed relief.
The Association also drew attention to the fact that many advocates themselves have suffered losses due to the floods, making it imperative that they be given a fair hearing when they approach district administrations with their grievances.
The Bar Association emphasized that the legal fraternity is committed to contributing to relief efforts in coordination with local authorities. It expressed confidence that the district administrations would appreciate its concerns and extend full cooperation to enable advocates to play a meaningful role in ensuring timely relief and redressal for affected communities.
