J&K Police and Security Forces Collaborate to Eliminate Terrorism: DGP Dilbag Singh’s Visit to Anantnag
05-10-2023 : Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh, emphasized the collective efforts of the police and other security forces in eradicating the remnants of terrorism from the Union Territory. DGP Singh made this declaration during his visit to the High Ground area of Anantnag District, where he engaged with a joint party comprising personnel from the Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). This group had been involved in an encounter in Kulgam district the previous day, resulting in the elimination of two local militants.
While interacting with the brave Jawans and officers from the Police and CAPFs, DGP Singh commended the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation in Kulgam. He highlighted the unwavering commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces to eliminate terrorism in the region, aiming to create a safer environment for the people. He acknowledged that the people of Jammu and Kashmir had endured decades of disturbance and destruction sponsored by Pakistan and expressed the resolve to provide them with a better and secure future.
During his visit, DGP Singh recognized the exceptional performance of the personnel who participated in the Kulgam encounter and presented rewards to them. He praised the unwavering courage displayed by the Jawans and officers working in the Union Territory, attributing their efforts to the strengthening of peace.
DGP Singh expressed his pride in the dedication and commitment of all those involved in maintaining peace and order in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the need for a robust response to the nefarious designs of terrorists originating from across the border and stressed the importance of utilizing both technical and human resources to track down and eliminate the remaining terrorists. Additionally, he called for continuous monitoring and vigilance to dismantle the support systems for terrorism.
While acknowledging that the Union Territory has largely been peaceful, DGP Singh congratulated the police, other security forces, and the people for their collaborative efforts in achieving this stability. However, he also cautioned against the ongoing conspiracy by Pakistan to disrupt peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir.
DGP Singh directed the forces to escalate efforts in the fight against drug-related activities, as Pakistan was using drug trafficking to fund terrorism and harm the younger generation. He underscored the importance of taking the anti-drug campaign to the next level to counter this threat effectively.
