J&K Police Intensifies Search Operations To Hunt Terrorists in Rajouri and Udhampur

Security Forces Launch Massive Operation to Track and Neutralise Terrorists in Rajouri and Udhampur

Jammu, Oct 8: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have intensified operations to track down terrorists hiding in remote forested areas of Rajouri and Udhampur districts, officials said on Wednesday.

A brief encounter occurred on Tuesday evening in Beeranthub, Kandi area of Rajouri between the Special Operations Group (SOG) and suspected terrorists. Meanwhile, three more suspected militants were sighted in the Dharni Top area of Basantgarh in Udhampur.

Police, assisted by the Army and CRPF, have strengthened cordons around the affected areas, launching a massive search operation early Wednesday to locate and neutralise the suspects. The cordon has been extended to adjoining regions, but authorities reported no fresh contact with terrorists so far.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti, said, “Exchange of fire took place between terrorists and the SOG team in Beeranthub area, Police Station Kandi, Rajouri. Joint teams of police, Army, and CRPF have rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.”

Officials emphasized that the operation remains ongoing, with security forces maintaining high vigilance in the region to ensure the safety of civilians.
