J&K Police Launch Crackdown on Relatives and Associates of Pakistan Based Terrorists and OGWs
Ramban operations aim to curb anti-national activities and strengthen local security grid
JAMMU, Nov 9: Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a large scale Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on Sunday in Ramban district to investigate suspicious activities of relatives of Jammu and Kashmir natives operating from Pakistan (JKNOPs) and Over Ground Workers (OGWs), officials said.
The operation was conducted in a coordinated manner under the supervision of SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta, across multiple locations in Banihal and Gool. Police teams, along with Army, CRPF, and SOG units, inspected premises of relatives and known associates of active terrorists to verify antecedents and tighten security around sensitive areas.
“The police teams thoroughly inspected multiple premises to ensure no anti-national or unlawful activities were being carried out or supported,” the spokesperson said, adding that the drives were conducted without causing inconvenience to the general public.
Officials reiterated that such intelligence driven operations are part of ongoing preventive measures to maintain peace and stability in the region. The police also urged residents to cooperate and share information regarding suspicious movements or persons, assuring strict confidentiality of informants’ identities.
Ramban Police reaffirmed their commitment to neutralising anti-national networks and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
