J&K Police Reject Claims Linking Pakistan-Based Terror Group to Nowgam Blast as ‘Baseless, Mischievous’
J&K Police clarify no foreign terror group involvement in Nowgam accidental blast
SRINAGAR, Nov 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have categorically dismissed claims linking the accidental explosion at Nowgam police station in Srinagar to any Pakistan based terror group, including JeM’s PAFF. The blast, which occurred late Friday, killed nine people and injured 32 others.
Authorities confirmed that the explosion took place while officials were carefully extracting samples from a large cache of explosives seized from Faridabad, Haryana, in connection with an inter-State terror module case.
J&K Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat said, “Due to the sensitive and unstable nature of the recovered material, the sampling and examination were being carried out with extreme caution. Despite all precautions, an accidental blast occurred last night.”
The police emphasized that the incident was purely accidental and urged the public not to speculate about external terror involvement.
