SRINAGAR, Sept 22: Former Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Ghulam Jeelani Pandit, passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 92. Serving as the fourth DGP of J&K Police, Pandit Sahab retired after a distinguished career marked by integrity, dedication, and simplicity.
Born on February 22, 1933, Pandit earned respect and admiration across ranks for his grace, humility, and unwavering commitment to duty. Colleagues and well-wishers remember him as a true gentleman who led by example, leaving a lasting legacy in the police force.
The current Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, along with officers at all levels, expressed deep sorrow over Pandit’s demise.
