In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Cyber Police has warned people about an online scam in the name of Social Welfare Schemes (SWSs) and urged the general public not to share their bank account details with anyone.
AIR correspondent reports that a Spokesman of J&K Cyber Police said that there are fraudsters claiming to be from the Central Social Welfare Departments targeting the real beneficiaries of different schemes.
He said they are calling and enticing them that scheme funds will be directly transferred into their accounts and asking for bank account details.
The Spokesman further warned not to share OTP, account details, CVV number, and credit card details to anyone introducing himself or herself from Central Welfare Department.
