Chairs meeting of Corporators ahead of JMC’s General House Meeting
JAMMU, May 13: Ahead of the upcoming General House Meeting of Jammu Municipal Corporation, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta convened a meeting of BJP Corporators with the sole purpose of devising a strategy to further the cause of fulfilling civic amenities and services for Jammu City.
Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta was also part of this important meeting in which several issues of vital nature were discussed besides exploring the areas on which Corporators will focus in the coming time.
Mayor Jammu briefed the meeting about the achievements of the civic body and the works accomplished in the recent past. He said that JMC has come out as a vibrant civic agency that has added sheen to the beauty of Jammu by carrying out various works of beautification and cleanliness which were never done before. He assured that he will not take rest until and unless Jammu’s name will be figured out in the list of the most beautiful and well-maintained cities of the country.
Parmod Kapahi, Chief WhipBJP, and Inderjeet Sharma Organizing Secretary also shared the dais.
Addressing the meeting, Kavinder said that no doubt the Jammu Municipal Corporation has emerged as a people-friendly department but still there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed and people’s feedback is the only measure to get the right picture about the ground situation. He said that Corporators should work in a way to make JMC a one-stop solution to all the civic problems of the people of Jammu city.
Kavinder stressed upon Corporators to maintain liaison with booth level cadre and general masses to address their civic issues on priority. Besides, Kavinder also raised the issue of expediting the work on solid waste management projects and ongoing works under the Smart City Projects. He said that stakeholders of all these projects should take up things with agility as the people of the entire UT of J&K and even the nation are expecting a lot from those sitting at the helm of affairs.
