Kareena Kapoor Shares Intimate Family Christmas Amid Sunjay Kapur Inheritance Case Verdict Approaching

Family festivities marked by warmth and remembrance, as Delhi High Court readies verdict on ₹30,000 crore inheritance battle

Mumbai, Dec 26 : Christmas this year at the Pataudi residence was a calm and heartfelt affair, offering a glimpse of family warmth amid ongoing legal turbulence. Kareena Kapoor Khan shared moments from the celebrations on social media, providing fans with a rare, intimate look at the festivities.

One post highlighted a beautifully decorated Christmas tree glowing gently, while another captured her niece Samaira and nephew Kiaan, the children of Karisma Kapoor and late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, standing in matching Aureus Polo jerseys. Kareena captioned the image with love, calling them her “Christmas Angels.”

Sunjay Kapur, an industrialist and passionate polo player, passed away suddenly in June while playing polo in London, leaving a void deeply felt by his children. The holiday celebration at Pataudi was thus tinged with remembrance and familial bonding.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, legal proceedings over Sunjay Kapur’s personal estate continued at the High Court. The court has completed hearings on a contentious interim plea regarding the management of the estate, which is estimated to be worth nearly ₹30,000 crore. Justice Jyoti Singh has reserved the order, having formally accepted all written submissions and stating that no new filings will be entertained before the final decision.

Representing Priya Kapur, Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar denied allegations of asset concealment or overseas transfers, presenting comprehensive financial records, corporate documents, and sworn disclosures. The defence also dismissed claims surrounding luxury assets and questioned reports of Sunjay Kapur’s annual earnings.

On the other side, Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Samaira and Kiaan, challenged the authenticity of the Will, citing inconsistencies in language, absence of mention of Sunjay’s mother, and procedural lapses in registration. Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, has independently raised objections, asserting she was neither informed nor acknowledged in the Will and alleging attempts to rush control over the estate post his demise.

The upcoming High Court order on the interim injunction will be pivotal, determining who can manage the estate while the larger inheritance case progresses.
