Karisma Kapoor’s Children Move Court Against Priya Kapur in Rs 30,000 Crore Sanjay Kapur Asset Dispute

Samaira and Kiaan seek court intervention to prevent Priya Kapur from altering or moving assets until inheritance case is resolved

New Delhi, Nov 19: In a significant development in the ongoing legal battle over Sunjay Kapur’s inheritance, Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have filed a fresh petition against Priya Sachdev. The siblings have requested the court to restrain Priya from changing or transferring any of Sunjay Kapur’s assets until the matter is legally settled. The court is scheduled to hear the plea on November 20.

Currently, the Will and the application for a forensic examination are with Gagandeep Jindal, Joint Registrar of the Delhi High Court. On November 11, Samaira and Kiaan sought permission to inspect the original Will submitted by Priya in October, citing several irregularities. Priya opposed this request.

The matter was reviewed again on November 17, with the Joint Registrar directing Priya Sachdev and Shraddha Suri Marwah to submit a written response within three weeks, outlining their objections. Samaira and Kiaan’s legal team may also file additional documents during this period. The next hearing is scheduled for December 16.

For context, Karisma Kapoor married Sunjay Kapur in 2003 and had two children  Samaira (2005) and Kiaan (2011)  before their divorce in 2016. Sunjay Kapur passed away in June 2025. While Karisma Kapoor is not personally involved in the legal proceedings, her children are actively pursuing their claim to their father’s estate.
