BENGALURU, May 15: Karnataka intensified its push toward technology-driven higher education during the Campus to Career Summit 2026, where policymakers, academic institutions and industry representatives outlined plans to strengthen employability and digital learning across the state.

The two-day summit, organised jointly by Karnataka’s Department of Higher Education and Elets Technomedia, focused on artificial intelligence integration, workforce preparedness and industry-academia collaboration. Senior ministers, university heads, corporate executives and education experts participated in discussions on building future-ready institutions.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted the state’s ambition to become a national hub for emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology and climate technologies.

Several strategic agreements were signed during the summit to expand AI-based education, green skill development and digital learning initiatives. Partnerships involving the British Council, technology firms and skilling organisations were announced to improve career readiness among university students.

Officials stated that higher education institutions must adapt quickly to changing global employment trends. Sessions at the summit explored AI-driven teaching tools, research collaboration, entrepreneurship and innovation-led economic growth.

Industry leaders emphasised the importance of aligning university curricula with real-world job requirements. Experts noted that automation and AI technologies are rapidly transforming traditional career structures, making continuous upskilling essential.

Education specialists also discussed the growing role of public-private partnerships in modernising classrooms, improving digital infrastructure and expanding access to advanced technical training.
