ANTF Kashmir Arrests Woman Drug Peddler After 3-Year Hunt in Major NDPS Case

Srinagar, Jan 2: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir has arrested a woman drug peddler who had been evading arrest for over three years in a high-profile NDPS case.

The accused, Tamana Ashraf, daughter of Mohammad Ashraf from Batamaloo, Srinagar, was wanted under FIR No. 10/2023 registered at ANTF Jammu under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act. She was allegedly involved in trafficking more than 7 kilograms of charas intended for Mumbai via courier services.

According to ANTF, the accused had been on the run across different states since the case was registered. However, due to sustained intelligence led operations, she was apprehended from her residence in Batamaloo on January 1, 2026.

The task force highlighted that this arrest marks a significant achievement in its ongoing crackdown on drug networks in Jammu and Kashmir, reflecting ANTF’s commitment to curbing narcotics crimes and ensuring law enforcement vigilance in the region.
