Kashmir Revises School Timings for Winter Schedule, Effective November 1
New schedule sets different timings for schools within and outside Srinagar limits; all institutions directed to comply strictly.
Srinagar, Oct 31 — The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK), has announced revised school timings across the Kashmir Division, effective from November 1, 2025.
According to the official order (No. 309-DSEK of 2025), schools located within the Srinagar Municipal limits will operate from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, while institutions outside the municipal limits and in other areas of Kashmir Division will function from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The directive applies to both government and recognized private schools, with the DSEK instructing all heads of institutions to strictly adhere to the revised schedule as part of the region’s winter adjustment plan.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has selected 20 Jammu and Kashmir Police officers, including an Inspector General of Police (IGP), for the prestigious MHA Award for Excellence, recognizing their role in avenging the Pahalgam attack.
