Kashmir Sees Protests After Islamabad Blast Targets Shia Worshippers

Demonstrations remain peaceful as residents condemn attack that killed 31 worshippers and injured dozens

Kashmir, Feb 07 : Protests broke out across several Shia majority localities in Kashmir on Friday night following a deadly explosion at a Shia mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, that claimed at least 31 lives and left dozens injured, officials said.

Demonstrations were reported from Chainabal Pattan in Baramulla, Imambara Zadibal and Harwan in Srinagar, as well as Inderkote–Sumbal in Bandipora. Participants raised anti-Pakistan slogans while strongly condemning the assault on worshippers.

The blast occurred at the Khadija Tul Kubra mosque during Friday prayers, causing widespread casualties and shock.

Protesters voiced solidarity with the victims and urged an end to sectarian attacks targeting civilians. Authorities said the gatherings were largely peaceful, with crowds dispersing late at night without any major incident.
