Kashmir Shivers as Sub-Zero Temperatures Plummet Further
Kashmir reels under intensified cold wave as mercury dips sharply
SRINAGAR Dec 3 : The cold wave tightened its grip over Kashmir as minimum temperatures fell further below the freezing point, accompanied by a dense fog cover across the valley, officials said on Wednesday.
Srinagar recorded a sharp drop in night temperature, settling at minus 4.4°C, significantly lower than minus 2.5°C the previous night. The intensified chill also led to heavy fog, particularly around water bodies, disrupting visibility in several areas.
Officials said that most parts of the valley remained enveloped in a thick blanket of fog through the morning, adding to the prevailing cold conditions.
