Kashmir Valley Receives Incessant Rainfall, But No Alarming Flood Situation: Chief Engineer

Chief Engineer Dispels Panic over Rainfall in Kashmir, Reassures Public

19-04-2023 : According to the Chief Engineer of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Er Naresh Kumar, there is no need to panic as there is no flood-like situation in the Kashmir Valley despite the incessant rainfall since yesterday. The alert level at Sangam and Ram Munshi Bagh is well below the danger mark. He reassured the public that there is no cause for alarm at this time.

Er Naresh Kumar further added that the weather is expected to improve in the afternoon, so there is no need to panic. The Kashmir Valley has experienced continuous rainfall, and the weather forecast predicts more rain throughout the day. However, an independent weatherman has predicted that the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir will receive a good amount of snow, while the plains may experience moderate to heavy rain.

The weatherman also predicts that there will be more showers till Friday, with the maximum temperature remaining below normal by 4 to 13 Degree Celsius at most places. Despite this, the authorities have reiterated that there is no need to panic as the situation is not alarming, and the flood alert levels are well below the danger mark.
