Khatana Hits Out at Omar Govt Over Connectivity, Relief & Water Supply After Floods
Jammu, 28-09-2025: Khatana strongly criticized the Omar Abdullah-led government for its failure to provide even temporary road connectivity, ensure timely restoration of water supply, and carry out proper damage assessment during past calamities.

Samba, 28 September: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Ghulam Ali Khatana today paid a surprise visit to the flood-affected areas of District Samba to assess the ground situation and extend support to the affected families.
During the visit, Khatana interacted with residents, heard their concerns firsthand, and assured them of timely relief and rehabilitation measures. He emphasized that no effort will be spared in ensuring immediate assistance and long-term restoration for the affected population.
The MP was accompanied by officials from departments including Tehsildar, PWD (R&B), Rural Development Department (RDD), Flood & Irrigation Department, Power Development Department (PDD), Agriculture Department, Revenue Department, Jal Shakti (PHE), Police Department, Food & Civil Supplies Department, PMGSY, Education Department, Social Welfare Department, Forest Department, SDRF, Sports Department, ICDS, and Health Department.
Political leaders and local representatives present during the visit included Ch. Mushtaq Inqalabi, National Secretary Tribal (BJP); Former BDC Arshad Begum; Adv. Ch. Mohd Riyaz and Sulaman; Mandal Pardhans Tara Chand, Ram Saroop, Bansi Lal Chand, Choudhary, Molvi Noor, Hasan Mohd, Mohd Yonas, and Baripul Singh; and Riyaz Ahmed (BJP).
Reaffirming the Centre government’s commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the people in times of crisis, Khatana assured that both short-term relief and long-term rehabilitation measures will be expedited.
