Khisyani Billi Khamba Noche: Congress spreading filth over Epstein Files: Gaurav
“Congress misusing epstein files to target PM Modi”: Gaurav
Jammu Ist Feb : Calling the Congress’s conduct a classic case of “khisyani billi khamba noche” (a panicked cat scratching a pole in frustration), BJP Spokesperson and Convenor for International Affairs Gaurav Gupta on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the opposition, accusing it of sinking to its lowest moral and political depths by dragging Prime Minister Narendra Modi into the recently released Jeffrey Epstein files, despite an unequivocal rejection by the Government of India.
Gupta said the Congress had crossed every line of decency, responsibility and national interest by amplifying what he described as “the garbage musings of a convicted criminal”, purely to malign the Prime Minister and sabotage India’s global standing.
“This is not politics, this is poison,” Gupta said. “Like a khisyani billi khamba noche, the Congress is lashing out in frustration, circulating filth written by a convicted criminal and knowingly spreading lies even after the Ministry of External Affairs has categorically rejected these claims. This exposes the Congress’s desperation and complete moral bankruptcy.”
He asserted that Prime Minister Modi’s official visit to Israel in July 2017 was a historic and transparent diplomatic milestone, conducted entirely in India’s national interest and under global scrutiny. “To twist a convicted criminal’s private email into a conspiracy theory is an insult not just to the Prime Minister, but to India’s institutions and its foreign policy,” Gupta added.
Referring to Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera’s social media post, Gupta accused the opposition of deliberate fabrication and distortion, alleging that the Congress had inserted insinuations that do not exist in the original document to manufacture controversy.
“The Congress is deliberately misquoting the email, adding words and intent that were never there, just to mislead the public. This is a textbook case of fake news and political deceit,” he said, demanding an unconditional apology from the Congress to the nation.
Gupta further accused the Congress of undermining India’s diplomatic credibility by giving legitimacy to unverified foreign documents and speculative material, instead of standing with the official position articulated by the MEA, which dismissed the reference as “trashy ruminations by a convicted criminal” deserving “utmost contempt.”
“This is the same Congress that remains silent on real national security threats, but is quick to circulate lies that damage India’s image abroad. Their actions amount to a direct attack on the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office and the interests of the country,” Gupta said.
Earlier, the MEA, through spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, clarified that beyond the factual detail of the Prime Minister’s Israel visit, there is absolutely no substance to the claims being circulated. The email dated July 6, 2017, sent by Epstein to an individual identified as “Jabor Y.”, largely discussed regional geopolitical issues, with the reference to PM Modi appearing as an unsupported and speculative aside.
Gupta said the episode once again exposed the Congress’s willingness to sacrifice national dignity for cheap headlines, adding that the people of India would see through what he termed “a disgraceful attempt at character assassination.”
