Legendary Kapil Dev Hospitalized After Suffering Heart Attack

Former captain of the Indian cricket team Kapil Dev has been admitted to a hospital in Delhi after suffering a heart attack. He was admitted to the emergency department of the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute located in Okhla Road early Friday. The hospital issued a statement stating that they had reached the hospital with complaints of chest pain. Where he underwent angioplasty. Now his condition is stable and he will be discharged from the hospital in the coming few days.

Kapil Dev is one of the greatest cricketers to have graced the game. One of the finest allrounders in the history of the game, the former cricketer represented India for well over a decade. He had made his debut for India against Pakistan in Quetta on October 1, 1978, before making his Test debut later that month in Faisalabad.

According to the hospital statement, 62-year-old Kapil Dev came to the emergency department of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) at 1 am on October 23 with a chest pain complaint. He was tested and underwent an emergency coronary angioplasty by Dr. Atul Mathur, director of the Department of Cardiology at night. Currently, he is admitted to the ICU and is being supervised by Dr. Atul Mathur and his team.
