LG Honors Families of Terror Victims, Distributes Job Letters in Srinagar
Over 200 family members to receive government jobs as part of J&K administration’s rehabilitation initiative
Srinagar, Dec 13: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday handed over appointment letters to family members of terror victims at Lok Bhavan Auditorium in Srinagar, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to justice, dignity, and employment for those affected by terrorism.
Addressing the gathering, the LG emphasized that the government stands firmly with every victim family in Jammu and Kashmir. “Their stories moved me deeply, and we decided to identify genuine cases for rehabilitation and provide them with government jobs,” Sinha said.
Under this initiative, 39 families from the Kashmir division received appointment letters, while 41 families in Jammu had been given letters earlier. Additionally, nine families affected by the recent Nowgam blast were provided job letters on Friday evening. “More than 200 family members have been given government jobs so far this year,” he added.
Sinha highlighted the plight of families who lost loved ones to terrorism, sharing that many struggled in silence for years. He assured that properties seized during years of terrorism will be restored to rightful owners and that even cases without FIRs will be examined for justice.
“The administration will not allow those who glorify terrorism to thrive. Anyone supporting terrorism in any form will face strict punishment,” he stated, outlining efforts to cleanse government institutions of personnel linked directly or indirectly to terror networks.
The LG described the initiative as a significant step in timely rehabilitation, ensuring no deserving family is left behind. “Earlier, some families waited decades for help. Now, we are ensuring timely redressal. This initiative will continue until every affected family receives justice,” he said.
The programme was attended by senior officers, including Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, along with family members of the victims. Sinha concluded by saying, “This is not just assistance; this is our tribute to their sacrifice,” marking a shift from sympathy to concrete action by the government.
