LG Ladakh launches ‘Kargil Digital Classroom’ YouTube Channel
Says digital platforms will democratize access to quality education
Kargil, November 10: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, today launched the ‘Kargil Digital Classroom’ YouTube channel at Raj Niwas, Kargil. The initiative marks a significant step towards integrating technology with education in the Union Territory.
The project is an innovative collaboration between the District Administration Kargil, the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Kargil, the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil and Education Department.
Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon; Member of Parliament Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa Jan; Executive Councillor Er. Punchok Tashi; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar; SDM Zanskar, Omkar Rajendra Gundage; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imteeaz Kacho; besides lecturers, teachers, and other officials attended the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the District Administration for this forward-looking initiative, stating that the Digital Classroom will open new avenues in the education system of Ladakh. He emphasized that education is the foundation for empowerment and progress, especially in a geographically challenging region like Ladakh.
The Lieutenant Governor said that “digital platforms like this will democratize access to quality education, ensuring that even students in the remotest villages can learn from the best teachers and resources available. It represents the true spirit of Digital India envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”
The LG added that the UT Administration is committed to strengthening digital infrastructure, promoting e-learning tools, and providing every child with equal learning opportunities. He also urged teachers to adopt modern teaching methods and make full use of digital resources to enhance classroom learning.
The Lieutenant Governor further hoped that the initiative would yield remarkable results in improving the quality, accessibility, and inclusiveness of education in the remote and far-flung areas of Kargil. He congratulated the Hill Council Kargil, DIET, and the entire team behind the project for setting a benchmark in the field of education through innovation and dedication.
