LG Manoj Sinha, CM Omar Abdullah extend Christmas greetings, call for peace and harmony

JAMMU, DECEMBER 24: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have extended warm and heartfelt greetings to the people on the joyous occasion of Christmas, calling for renewed commitment to peace, harmony, and compassion.

In his message, the lieutenant governor conveyed his best wishes to the people, expressing hope that the festive occasion would strengthen bonds of love and brotherhood across society. He said Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, reminds humanity of the enduring values of love, compassion and forgiveness that must guide daily life.

The Lieutenant Governor noted that the festival inspires collective responsibility towards one another and encourages efforts aimed at shared welfare and inclusive prosperity. He expressed hope that the spirit of Christmas would motivate people to reach out to those in need and help build a society marked by peace, happiness and mutual care.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed warm greetings to the people celebrating Christmas in Jammu and Kashmir and across the world. Describing Christmas as a festival that symbolises peace, love and compassion, he said the teachings of Jesus Christ continue to inspire humanity to uphold values of kindness, forgiveness and harmony.

The Chief Minister emphasised that Christmas goes beyond celebration and serves as a reaffirmation of shared values, where people from all communities come together in a spirit of unity and mutual respect. He highlighted the rich secular ethos and age-old tradition of brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir, noting that such occasions reinforce the region’s commitment to coexistence and harmony.

Urging people to mark the festival with empathy and generosity, the Chief Minister called upon citizens to extend support to the less privileged so that the joy of Christmas is shared by all. He wished peace, prosperity and happiness to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and expressed hope for a future defined by greater goodwill and communal harmony.
