JAMMU, MARCH 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, with the Chief Minister also conveying his good wishes on Nauroz, while praying for peace, prosperity, harmony, and collective well-being across Jammu and Kashmir.

In his message on Eid-ul-Fitr, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha described the festival as an occasion of deep spiritual and social importance, marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan. He said Eid embodies the noble values of sacrifice, compassion and sharing, and urged people to renew their commitment towards service of humanity, particularly by reaching out to the poor and needy. He expressed hope that the festival would usher in peace, happiness and prosperity for all sections of society.

The Lieutenant Governor said that Eid-ul-Fitr is not only a celebration of faith and devotion but also a reminder of the moral values nurtured during Ramzan, including self-restraint, empathy and generosity. He called upon people to observe the sacred occasion in a spirit of brotherhood, mutual care and social harmony.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to those celebrating across the world on the occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nauroz. In his message, he highlighted the profound spiritual significance of Eid as a divine celebration that follows a month of fasting, prayers, reflection and self-discipline during Ramadan.

He said Eid is a joyous and sacred festival that inspires gratitude to the Almighty and reinforces the values of compassion, generosity, unity and mutual respect. The Chief Minister observed that the festival brings people together, strengthens community bonds and offers an opportunity to spread happiness, kindness and support to those who are in need. He said the true essence of Eid lies in sharing joy with others and reaffirming the spirit of brotherhood and human solidarity.

Referring to the unique social and cultural fabric of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Minister said the festival reflects the enduring ethos of communal harmony, shared heritage and cultural inclusivity that has long defined the region. He prayed for lasting peace, sustained progress and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and extended his best wishes to all those celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr worldwide.

The Chief Minister also greeted the people on the occasion of Nauroz, describing it as a festival that heralds the arrival of spring and marks the beginning of the Persian New Year. He said Nauroz symbolizes renewal, hope, harmony and fresh beginnings, while also reflecting the region’s rich cultural heritage and spirit of togetherness. He prayed for peace to prevail across the world and expressed hope that the festival would bring happiness, positivity, development and prosperity to every household in Jammu and Kashmir.

With both the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister emphasizing values of compassion, peace, unity and service, the festive messages carried a common appeal for social harmony and collective well-being, while highlighting the spiritual depth and cultural richness associated with Eid-ul-Fitr and Nauroz.
