LG Manoj Sinha to Chair Unified Headquarters Meeting at Raj Bhavan, Reviews Security in J&K

High-level security review to focus on LoC tensions, winter preparedness, and intelligence-led operations

SRINAGAR, Sep 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will chair a crucial Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhavan on Friday at 11 am, officials said. The UHQ serves as the high command for security and intelligence operations across Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting will review the current security scenario in the Union Territory, with special emphasis on recent escalations along the Line of Control (LoC), winter preparedness, and other key security challenges. Top officials will brief the LG on the ground situation, including updates from the international borders and LoC.

Senior officials attending the session include Army’s Northern Commander Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma, J&K Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, and heads of paramilitary forces and intelligence agencies.

This follows LG Sinha’s previous UHQ meeting in May, held after the success of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ during which he had instructed security forces to carry out “precise, intelligence-led operations” to neutralise terrorists and dismantle their support networks.

The meeting underscores the administration’s continued focus on strengthening security mechanisms and ensuring proactive measures across Jammu and Kashmir.
