LMD concludes 2-day training programme at Excise and Taxation Institute Nagrota

JAMMU, DECEMBER 03; The Legal Metrology Department, J&K, under the supervision of Controller Shiv Kumar Gupta, concluded a two-day training programme held at the Excise and Taxation Institute Nagrota. Officers from both Jammu and Kashmir divisions participated in the programme, which focused on strengthening enforcement capacity, enhancing administrative efficiency and updating field staff on key legal and technical frameworks.

The technical sessions covered amendments in PCR and GFR, the role of DDOs, GeM procedures, e-Commerce regulations and emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security. The sessions were conducted by experts from the Legal Metrology Department, IIT Jammu and the J&K Police. The programme featured expert-led deliberations, interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at improving practical understanding and field-level implementation.

The Institute emphasised practical learning, teamwork and the adoption of modern systems to strengthen service delivery and promote transparency. A dedicated session on stress management was also organised to help officers improve workplace well-being and professional conduct.

At the conclusion of the programme, Controller LMD distributed certificates among the participating officers, acknowledging their active participation and performance. The department reiterated its commitment to continuous capacity building, improved coordination, and stronger consumer protection across Jammu and Kashmir.
