Lucknow, Oct 22 : Lucknow Residency is aglow this festive season as it brings the Revolt of 1857 to life through a mesmerizing light and sound show. Launched by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, the show guides audiences through Lucknow’s cultural grandeur, Awadhi heritage, and the defining moments of India’s first war of independence. It vividly showcases the heroism of freedom fighters and the historical stories etched into the Residency’s time-worn walls.

UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Through this Light and Sound Show, people can experience the soul of Lucknow’s history. It offers a glimpse into the courage, struggle, and sacrifice that gave birth to India’s freedom movement. Entry will be free for the first few days to allow maximum people to experience it, after which a nominal fee will be introduced.”

The show takes place every evening at 6 PM within the Residency complex, combining light, sound, and narrative storytelling for an immersive experience. Singh added, “The aim is to connect every generation with history in an engaging and inspiring way. Families, tourists, and children will find this show both educational and emotionally enriching. The bullet and cannon marks still visible on the Residency’s walls stand as silent witnesses to the bravery of those who laid the foundation for India’s independence.”
