M.K Ajatshatru Singh vigorously condemns Faisal Khan’s misleading remarks on Maharaja Hari Singh
Demands public apology or faces Legal Action
Jammu, July 13: M.K. Ajatshatru Singh, former Minister and scion of the Dogra royal family, has strongly condemned the baseless and misleading statement made by Faisal Khan, also known as Khan Sir, a Patna-based educator, for his derogatory reference to Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.
In a press statement issued here today, M.K Ajatshatru Singh, grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, said it is deeply unfortunate and unacceptable that an educator of such a public platform has chosen to speak without understanding historical facts. “Maharaja Hari Singh Ji was not only a progressive and visionary ruler but also played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir by choosing to accede to the Union of India at a critical moment in history,” he said.
The former minister emphasized that Maharaja Hari Singh Ji signed the Instrument of Accession to India on October 26, 1947, at a time when Pakistan-backed tribal raiders had invaded the state. “Faced with a brutal assault on his people and territorial integrity, Maharaja Hari Singh Ji took a firm and courageous decision to join India—guided by his commitment to secularism, national integrity, and the welfare of his subjects. His decision was rooted in principle, not pressure.”
“It is shameful for any educator to distort such a significant historical contribution,” he remarked. “Faisal Khan, being in the teaching profession, carries a responsibility to educate, not mislead. Making unverified and inflammatory remarks about a respected figure like Maharaja Hari Singh Ji sets a dangerous precedent and disrespects the legacy of the man who ensured that Jammu and Kashmir became an integral part of India.”
M.K Ajatshatru Singh demanded a public apology from Faisal Khan for his irresponsible statement and warned of legal action if he fails to retract and express regret. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir, and especially the Dogra community, will not tolerate any attempt to malign the image of their Maharaja who made the historic and constitutional decision to side with India during its most critical hour.”
