MAITRIs provided AI Kits, other Associated equipment at Rajouri

RAJOURI, APRIL 01: Chief Animal Husbandry Officer today distributed AI Kits and other associated equipment among Multipurpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India (MAITRI) at a function organized here at Animal Husbandry Office Rajouri.

Chief Animal Husbandry said that MAITRIs are chosen from unemployed educated youth of the district and they are trained at the accredited AI training institutes.

“The MAITRIs have been trained under the flagship National Programme for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development. They are multipurpose workers and along with their primary role i.e. Artificial Insemination, they will also take up other important associated tasks in rural areas including Veterinary first aid, Livestock vaccinations, data entry in National database, Milk recording, distribution of Fodder seeds, Livestock Insurance etc” the CAHO elaborated.

During the function, Artificial Insemination kits, Cryocans and other useful equipment were provided to the MAITRIs of Rajouri district in presence of other officers of the Department.

The CAHO asked them to work with utmost sincerity for the benefit of farmers by making available the latest reproductive technologies for bovine breeding at their doorsteps.
